Bullet point Aside from putting my child in a Babee Free sun protection garment, what else can I do to protect their skin?

At Babee Free, we are passionate about protecting your child’s skin from sun damage. We recommend use of a broad spectrum, both UVA & UVB, water proof sun screen. Apply sun cream to small areas of the skin that can not be protected by our cover or clothing, reapplied every two hours, or more frequently if it is wiped off or washed off in the water. If you can find some shade on the beach, use it. You should also aim to avoid exposure during the peak UV times of 10am – 3pm. Children should be supervised at all times when in the sun.

Bullet point As kids, we seemed to be permanently sun burnt during summer, and my skin is ok. What’s all the fuss about with kids today?

Babies and young children are more susceptible to sun damage than adults. It takes less than 11 minutes of the sun, to damage a babies skin. A babies fragile skin produces less oil and melanin, & is only one fifth of the thickness of an adult’s skin, which means they have a much higher risk of skin damage from sunburn and UV exposure. UV rays are particularly insidious as they can not be felt.
